“Hump Night” is a great night to come out and see The Kirk Adams Band also known as THE HONEYBADGERS at Ricky T’s Bar and Grill in beautiful Treasure Island, Florida. From 10 – close, we play an eclectic mix of originals, rock ‘n roll classics, blues and unusual covers. Ricky’s has a very friendly atmosphere, great food and service and is a fun, intimate venue to catch the band live. Local legend Tommy Bell handles the drums and the rock solid Steve Vitale is THE Dark Lord of the Low End. On Saturday night we are lucky to have the incomparable Dennis Wallace join us. So come out and feed your ears!

Above The Dark Water

Total Thrive Productions, an offshoot of Escapade Studios, is a group of talented animators, musicians and artists in general, from Greenwich (London) whose work I have been enjoying for years. Be it “Ringo The Dutch Kangaroo“, “Basshunter” or “Shatner’s Pants” their videos are always entertaining, unique oddities, sure to please me in unsuspecting ways. When I spoke to Gary Brady and Loren Scott about taking on a video project for me I was thrilled when they excepted. The song I chose was “Above Dark Water” and I left them to their craft. Gary kept me up to date with some hilarious emails that I wish I could post for you involving vino tinto, Strong Continental Lager and the higher plane. Before too long the video was complete and I think it came out terrific!!! A darkly humorous tale with biting satire and excellent animation for which my tune provides a pulsing, sinister back drop.

Chasing Chickens With The Chicken Chasers

I recently finished producing the first CD for a snappy outfit called the Chicken Chasers entitled “Beggars Can’t Be Schmoozers”. When I first saw these guys live, I was entertained by their fun songs, sheer exuberance and their unique sound which they call “shving”, a marriage of swing and klezmer, though that is too narrow of a description to really define their music. It was a pleasure to be asked to produce their CD. It was a great experience and I had such a good time working with them on it. I hope you’ll take the time to check out a few tunes.You won’t be sorry!

Money Changes Everything

A few years back I produced a CD for Gale Trippsmith entitled “Chasing The Rabbit“. One of the songs Gale wrote for that CD has been covered by the incomparable Nanci Griffith and has been released today on her excellent new CD “The Loving Kind”. The song is entitled “Money Changes Everything” and you can hear Nanci’s stellar version on her myspace page. Our baby has grown up and fallen in with a good crowd! I’m feeling very proud today…

Robert And Rhoda

I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to play on one track of my good friend LaRue Nickelson’s newest CD “Dark Water”. The track’s called “Robert And Rhoda” and I think it’s a really cool composition. My pal Capt. Bob pointed out that there was a review in one of our local papers and that I was mentioned in the review:

”My fave, though, is “Robert and Rhoda,” which finds Nickelson and slide guitarist Kirk Adams feinting and jabbing through a tune that develops into something akin to a Grateful Dead jam.”
